Bio

Documentary photographer, visual artist and educator. He studied economics and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 2024 he defended his doctoral thesis at the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava. His work combines classic documentary with elements of staging, focusing on the relationship between people and place, memory and nature. He often tells his stories through portraiture. International recognition came with the series “Karczeby”, devoted to the inhabitants of the Polish countryside, awarded among others at Pictures of the Year International. He has received numerous awards, including National Geographic, the Magnum Expression Photography Award, the Newsweek Photo Award and Grand Press Photo.
